Our founding program, Leadership Arts Institute (LAI), is a nine-month long leadership development program that enables the next generation of business leaders to further the arts and culture in their communities. LAI brings together class members from diverse backgrounds and a cross-section of industries to foster networking and teamwork while developing their skills as inclusive, effective leaders in nonprofit arts and culture organizations. LAI provides training in leadership, nonprofit board best practices, knowledge of current issues affecting cultural institutions in North Texas, and an overview of the North Texas arts and culture eco-system.

Our Leadership Arts Alumni program allows for the graduates of Leadership Arts Institute to continue collaboration and networking, attend learning opportunities and cultural experiences, advocate for business support of arts and culture in North Texas, and support BCA and current LAI classes and their projects. This year LAA has created a series of town hall style virtual forums to address the distinct challenges arts/culture organizations are facing in 2020 with COVID-19 and the Black Lives Matter movement including a forum dedicated to diversity within Boards of Directors.

Our signature corporate arts program engages employees from diverse professional levels and across hierarchies. Art has long been central to social change, and remains an important way for people to process their thoughts, connect to themselves, and connect to the world around them. At On My Own Time, we encourage this dialogue and spotlight the contributions that our artists are making to this conversation.
