Wonderful news for employees of Business Council for the Arts member companies!

Our member companies receive invitations to all of BCA’s special events. And if you are an employee you may also register to receive your individual invitation directly.  That means you can look forward to events such as private museum tours, wine and design workshops, and lectures led by industry experts. We are honored to have you join us!

BCA is proud to be collaborating with Big Reads ’22.  Big D Reads ’22 is a community-wide reading program modeled on the widely acclaimed community book club created in 2013. The selected book this year is The Accommodation, by Jim Schutze. It tells the mid-century history of Dallas, centered on the civic response to the bombing of Black citizens’ homes, and the ongoing housing crisis that traces its roots to the Civil War and Jim Crow. Since the re-release of The Accommodation, the Dallas Morning News has called Schutze’s work “essential reading to understand Dallas” and presents a unique opportunity to spark, inspire, and facilitate needed citywide discussion regarding Dallas’ modern racial history, how we go to our present-day situation, and how we can heal and progress from the past. Big D Reads is providing free books to schools, book clubs, libraries, hospitals, corporate DEI divisions, young professional and leadership organizations, nonprofits, and at other locations throughout the city. Look for our upcoming special member event involving an in-depth discussion of the book selection for this year.
